If you look under your new truck and see the rear differential cover has paint missing you are generating more heat than you think.
Example of a customer observation in testing:
2005 Dodge 3500 with 20,000 miles, showed no signs of paint damage on the rear differential. The vehicle was never used for towing. The vehicles Rear Fluid was factory and a Fifth wheel was installed for a travel trailer weighing 9,000 Pounds. The truck was used only for towing this fifth wheel for the next 10,000 miles. At about 25,000 miles of towing we noticed a change in the rear cover paint, by 30,000 miles the paint was completely gone and only rust was present. The rear differential fluid was drained and the rear cover was replaced with a new factory painted cover. 12 oz of Tow Cool was added to the factory fluid and the vehicle was used until today towing the same travel trailer. 50,214 miles later the rear cover is still has a good finish on the rear covers paint. We did not have the ablitity to use digital guages for this test. But this was a good indicator the heat was reduced. |
